SDLF-image.pngBe Recognized as a Leader in Special Districts

In 1999, the Special District Leadership Foundation (SDLF), a 501(c)(3) organization, was formed to provide recognition and certification opportunities to special district officials and employees to enhance service to the public. It is dedicated to excellence in local government.

To date, SDLF has designed and implemented the following programs: Special District Administrator Certification (SDA); Recognition in Special District Governance; District of Distinction Accreditation; and District Transparency Certificate of Excellence.

The SDA Certification is for general managers and other management staff of the district, the Recognition in Special District Governance is for directors or trustees, District of Distinction Accreditation and the District Transparency Certificate of Excellence are programs for the district as a whole.
